The Northern Junk Buildings are maybe the oldest buildings in Victoria. They were once connected to the harbour via wharves and used for unloading ships and selling merchandise. They date back to 1864 and were made with brick, sandstone, and ballast that was brought on ships from Cape Horn, the southern tip of Chile. It was built in the style of the Hudsons Bay trading posts.

These fantastic buildings have been empty and ignored since l978, now is a great time to do your own archeological exploration before the new owner makes them into condominiums.
